5. Fees, subsidies and leaving

Late fees
A charge of $1 per minute will be made for any time a child is present outside of their booked hours at preschool. If you believe you are not going to be able to collect your child at the agreed time then prior arrangement must be made with Tonia or one of the Team Leaders. We will do everything we can to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee availability of an extended booking. The total numbers of children present at preschool at any time, as well as the ratio of teachers to children, are governed by the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998. A preschool who fails to adhere to these regulations at all times risks loosing its license to operate. We appreciate your co-operation with this matter.

Payment of fees
The James St Preschool is committed to maintaining a fee structure that is competitive and encourages participation for all. Fees are due for payment within seven days of invoice date. We prefer that fees are paid electronically such as bill pay or automatic payment. If this is not possible then payment can be made by cheque at either preschool.

Notice for leaving
We require two weeks notice before you cancel your permanent booking. This is required in order to plan staffing and manage the waiting list.

Subsidies
It could be that you are entitled to a subsidy, which would reduce your fees considerably. Your eligibility for this is decided by WINZ, but we do have the application forms available. Please feel free to ask about this subsidy. It is important to note that WINZ only pay for the hours that a child attends the pre-school, not the booked time, so you will need to be aware that any extra fees incurred and not covered by your subsidy will be recovered through parent fees. It is your responsibility to make sure that chidcare subsidy renewals and changes in circumstances ie. hours booked or income levels are notified directly to WINZ.
