Clothing
Please dress your child/ren in comfortable, easy to wash play clothes for exploration and creative endeavours. We suggest all children bring a named bag with a complete change of clothes which are clearly labelled.

Infants, toddlers and children in nappies need to bring 4 to 5 nappies for the day and children who are being toilet trained will need extra underpants and shorts / trousers / dresses. The preschool has a supply of disposal nappies on hand and if these are used they can either be replaced or charged out to you at a cost of $1 per nappy.

For the winter months we suggest a woollen hat, gumboots and jacket and for the summer months a well fitting protective sunhat.

Parents/caregivers will be asked to provide a small bottle of sunblock each summer. If your child has any allergies to regular sunblock you will be required to bring alternative sunblock each day.

Any lost property is kept in the conservatory at the preschool and on the sign in desk at Junior School.

Civil Defence Emergencies
We have an emergency procedure displayed around the preschool, and children practice Fire, Earthquake and Tsunami drills regularly. In the event of an emergency the staff will care for your child until you or the person nominated on your child’s enrolment form has collected them. Please do not risk your safety to pick up your child as they will be well cared for until you can reach them safely. Our collection point is Redcliffs Primary School or Egnot Heights, but the reality is that we would only move a group of pre-school children in extreme circumstances.

Are there pets at James Street?
There are several pets at James Street Preschool and Junior School, including three tanks of fish, budgies, and two rabbits - Packa and Lou.

Holidays
We ask that parents advise us when their children will be on holiday as this assists with planning curriculum activities within the daily programme.

Statutory holidays / sick days
Fees are payable in full whether your child attends or not. Both preschools are closed on statutory holidays. Statutory holidays are also payable in full.

We ask that parents inform us when their child is going to be absent due to sickness or holidays. This assists us with programme planning and allocating staff additional time for assessment and providing feedback to parents.
