Medical Attention
Both pre-schools have a first aid kit for minor accidents and all staff members hold a current first aid certificate. All accidents are recorded in an accident book. In the unlikely event of a serious accident with a child we will immediately ring the parent / caregiver to get permission to take them to the medical centre in Redcliffs or by ambulance to hospital.
If children require medication during pre-school hours, parents are required to sign an authorisation form to enable staff to administer this.
The Ministry of Education supports children’s health by asking teachers to sight immunisation records. Please attach a copy of these to your child’s enrolment form. Please inform Tonia if you choose not to immunise your child. She will explain the procedures in place for ensuring the safety of non-immunised children.
Hearing and vision checks are carried out regularly by the Ministry of Health. A health professional visits regularly during your child’s time at preschool.
